Nukite

Nukite is a karate strike. Pronounced 'nuke-he-tay'. This is the spear hand strike known as Nukite, found and used in many karate styles such as GoJu Ryu and Shotokan.

The technique is an open handed strike that uses the finger formed in a tight configuration that resembles a spear head on the hand. The technique is used for thrusting and poking into the soft fleshy areas of an opponent, such as the neck, throat, face and stomach areas of your attacker in a fast thrusting motion.

Take all four fingers of the hand and clench them tightly together, then allow the fingers to bend slightly towards the palm, this ensure the fingers do not bend bend backwards during a spear hand strike. Keep the fingers clenched tight to form a spear effect upon impact, an ideal strike for finding the weak and vulnerable pressure points on the neck and under the arm pits.
