Everlast Hyperflex

The Hyperflex reflex bag from Everlast is claimed to be the perfect punching training aid for punching and strike training.

These cost around £50-70 to buy and are availbale from various retailers such as Sports Direct and Argos etc. When we initially got this, our first impressions were pretty good, however, after letting the entire family give it their best punches we quickly discovered that if you hit this thing like you are trying to kill it, you probably will.

Within just a few hour of striking the Everlast Hyperflex it became quite obvious to us that we needed to tone back our punching power if this device was going to make it past the first day of use.

The Everlast Hyperflex reflex bag was quite easy to assemble and did to us in the beggining feel like it was decent quality, however it didn't take long to change our minds, the stick soon started to rattle and the Everlast brand name didn't take long before the print was coming off the punch head. At one point, I clipped the bag with an uppercut and made the entire top section eject out accross the dojo.

We concluded that this device is certainly a lot of fun to train with and I am sure it would help to build speed, punching and striking techniques but the key to getting the most out of the Everlast Hyperflex is to not hit it very hard. The device is simply far too flimsey to be taking a big heavy beating on a regular basis, therefor we would recommend that you only strike this reflex bag with a conservative amount of power, the heavy hitters out there will destroy this item quite quickly if they give it a pasting. The key is train light, be aware that it could break, treat it with respect and it will provide you with a decent strike workout.
